Arya Tanksale, a senior at Mounds View High School in Arden Hills, has always been inspired by the passion and drive of the entrepreneurs who pitch their business plans on “Shark Tank.” While Arya hasn’t had the chance to try her hand at “Shark Tank” just yet, she harbored that same entrepreneurial spirit to lead her teammates to a first place win at the 2020 Aspiring Entrepreneurs Competition. Arya and her teammates created the company Meiya, offering a waste-reducing alternative to disposable makeup removal products. Not only did the company help “inspire positive change for a cleaner future,” it also served as a way for Arya to strengthen her skills to achieve future success. In addition to winning the competition, Arya’s leadership and hard work led her to be named the prestigious Otto Bremer Student Entrepreneur of the Year.
“JA has taught me that when you have a vision, when you have a goal, and when you have a passion for something, pursuing it regardless of any difficulties is the correct approach.”
Thank you to the Otto Bremer Trust for supporting JA’s Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative.
