Distribution Center

The Distribution Center supplies each JA BizTown business with their raw materials. Staff also provide all postal service needs by collecting and delivering mail throughout the city. The students in the Distribution Center will explore supply chain concepts and the importance to the business community. As a wholesale distributor, businesses will learn the importance of planning for supplies and pricing items for retail sale. Customers can purchase a Candy Gram to be delivered to a friend (personal checks only).

  • Signs Rental Agreement for business space
  • Supervises employees and oversees business operations
  • Signs all business payroll and expense checks
  • Prepares and gives speeches at Opening Town Meetings
  • Works with employees to determine pricing of products
  • Assists with all business duties when employees are on break

CFO

  • Inputs employee payroll information
  • Prints and distributes employee payroll checks
  • Prints and distributes business expense checks
  • Keeps all records of business expenses and payments
  • Makes business deposits at Bank
  • Signs business checks if CEO is not available

CARRIER

  • Collects mail from central postal box
  • Sorts letters
  • Delivers processed mail to businesses and individuals in JA BizTown
  • Provides customer service
  • Assists Sales Manager as necessary

SALES MANAGER

  • Works with CEO to determine plan for loan pay-off
  • Prepares and prices Candy Grams for retail sale
  • Sets up Point of Sale System (POS)
  • Assists customers with sales and accepts payments
  • Forwards collected payments to CFO for deposit

STOCK MANAGER

  • Accepts payment for materials being purchased by businesses
  • Distributes materials to businesses after receiving payment
  • Restocks supply bins for next day’s business operations
  • Assists with the delivery of additional materials, if needed
