Xcel Energy Center

The Energy Center provides JA BizTown businesses with all their energy needs. Each business will have the opportunity to earn alternative energy credits toward utility payments. Employees will educate citizens about ways to conserve energy as well as the benefits of renewable energy. Employees will also explore solar energy and interact with data from Junior Achievement’s building solar panels.

RENEWABLE ENERGY PORTFOLIO MANAGER

  • Computes and prints Utility bills
  • Works with the Digital Marketing Manager to achieve the energy goal
  • Reports to Sustainability Director of City Hall, the Newspaper and JA BizTown Staff about the day’s energy use and savings

DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER

  • Educates businesses about renewable energy and the solar panels on roof
  • Sells the Solar Energy Program to the business’ CEOs

SOLAR ENERGY ENGINEER

  • Uses Google Project Sunroof to gather data about the solar potential of their school and makes a recommendation to the Sustainability Director
