Kyleigh McPhillips

Kyleigh and Land O’Lakes CEO Chris Policinski

Kyleigh McPhillips is only a sixth grader, but she already runs her own Etsy store. She used her interest in science to learn how to make slime, and has been perfecting the recipe over the years by mixing different chemicals with glue. At JA STEM Camp this past summer, she gained skills that helped her grow her slime business. She wrote a business plan, and used the latest technology to film and create her own commercial.

Junior Achievement taught Kyleigh valuable skills that she’ll be able to use when she gets a real job. Things like leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork.

She had a chance to talk about her JA experience in front of hundreds of people at the 2017 JAUM Business Hall of Fame, and got to introduce one of this year’s laureates, Land O’Lakes CEO Chris Policinski. As she told the nearly 400 people in attendance at the event, “Thanks to Junior Achievement, I’m gaining the skills and confidence I need to succeed in the ‘real world’ after I graduate.”
